BOTANICAL: Anchusa capensis

PRONOUNCED: an-KOO-suh ka-PEN-sis

COMMON: Cape forget-me-not, Cape bugloss, Summer forget-me-not.

LIGHT: Full sun

HEIGHT: 8" - 2 ft. x equal spread

COLORS: Brilliant blue

COMMENTS: It produces some of the most vivid, clearest of blue flowers. Unfortunately, the coarse, large foliage can often hide the bloom heads. Removal of the uppermost foliage can solve this problem. Accepts average soil. Cut back to 6-inches after first bloom to promote a bushier plant and encourage further blooming. Lower growing cultivars are more attractive.
Anchusa Blue Angel, is a more compact species growing to 15".
