PRONOUNCED:
an-nem-oh-NOP-sis mak-roh-FIL-uh
COMMON:
False anemone
July
- Light purple to rose
COMMENTS:
For a very sheltered and shady position as hot,
dry winds soon cause the leaves to die, although
the roots may survive. The 10-inch
multiple-compound leaves grow low to the ground.
The nodding, waxy, 1-1/2-inch flowers bloom on
loose, arching branches with an appearance similar
to the Japanese anemone. It likes a deep, rich,
well-drained site.
