COMMENTS:
Introduced in England in 1930, this is a garden
gem which provides very welcome late summer color.
The silvery-green foliage is light and airy. It is
woody shrub, grown as a perennial it can be used as
a low hedge along the border, or in a large clump
to show this plant to its best. Extremely drought
tolerant and young plants bloom the first year.
Provide a good soil, enriched with humus and keep
moist until it becomes established. Cut to soil
level late winter or early spring. Blooms for 4 to
6 weeks or until the frost. Suggested
cultivars:

C. clandonensis 'Arthur Simmonds', 1 ft. - 2
ft., has bright blue flowers which provide a
striking contrast with the gray-green foliage.

longer period.

green.
