COMMENTS: A beautiful and bold native North American plant. The flowers are clusters of sweet pealike, 3-inch florets with dark brown anthers which grow from the leaf axil, and later develop into 4-inch long seed pods. The leaves are a light green, pinnately compound with individual leaflets to 2-inches long. Very suitable for wild areas, grown as a specimen, or the back of large beds. It adapts well to almost any well-drained, moist soil.
