COMMENTS:
Similar in growth habit to Centaurea
montana, this plant needs room. Feathery,
coarsely toothed leaves with silvery undersides.
The erect flower stems produce 2- to 3-inch,
solitary blossoms. Any average, light soil in the
dry side will fulfill the need. Too much shade or
overly fertile soil produces weak, elongated stems
which will require staking. Makes an excellent cut
flower, and may continue to bloom over a long
period of time if spent blooms are removed. Be
warned, this plant is very vigorous.
