PRONOUNCED:
KLEM-uh-tiss REK-tuh
COMMON:
Ground clematis
June
- White
COMMENTS:
Not all clematis are vines. Large, terminal
sprays of starry, 1-inch, fragrant florets appear
above pinnately compound foliage on rambling,
ground-hugging stems. It may need staking to show
off the blossoms. It is easy to grow in any average
yet moist soil, and best left undisturbed.
C. recta 'Purpurea' has white blooms and
deep purple leaves in the spring.
Clematis can be grouped into three types.
