COMMENTS: 'Sweet Dreams' is a stunning 2002 American introduction with large flowers of white, flushed soft pink with dark raspberry colored centers. It forms a floppy, bushy mound from a central crown and prefers average to rich, well drained soil. It becomes tolerant of dry conditions when established. The blooming period can be extended to September if regularly deadheaded. Ideal to plant in groups of three or more to form a broad mass of color and is attractive to bees and butterflies. Rosea has a reputation for being temperamental. Suggested cultivars:
C. rosea 'American Dream' has rosy pink flowers with a yellow center.
