COMMON: Threadleaf coreopsis. BLOOM HEIGHT LIGHT ZONE Early July to mid-August 10" - 1 ft. x equal spread Sun 4 - 9* July - Ruby red COMMENTS: A 2002 introduction and new color. Velvety ruby-red flowers with contrasting yellow centers bloom all summer into fall-attracting butterflies and birds. Rarely bothered by pests or diseases. Great for sunny borders, rock gardens and containers. *By late 2003, this species proved to be a very unreliable bloomer in Zone 6 by one of my local nurseries, even though it is labeled as hardy in Zones 4 to 9.
