COMMENTS: Variable in flower coloring from plant to plant. It forms a loose mat of grasslike, evergreen foliage. In bloom, it is covered with single, 1/2 inch, lightly scented flowers with sharp-toothed petals on slender stems. Useful in rock gardens and border edges. To improve compactness, shear off old flowers after blooming. In areas of severe winters, lightly mulch over winter. Self sows easily. Divide in early spring if the plant becomes too leggy. Some suggested cultivars:
D. deltoides 'Brilliancy' has bright, rose colored blooms.
D. deltoides 'Zing Rose' has bright pink blooms.
