COMMENTS:
An interesting hybrid strain, being a cross
between D. grandiflora and the common D.
purpurea. The spikes are cherry rose to salmon
rose and grow to 4 ft. in height. Seedlings
reproduce true to type and bloom the following
season. Remove spent flower stems for a possible
later rebloom, but allow the final blooms of the
season to go to seed. Provide a moist, average
soil. Of all the foxgloves, this one may be the
most perennial in its behavior. Staking is
difficult and they do have a tendency to flop! A
site protected from the wind is helpful.
