COMMENTS: Similar to E. cilicica but slightly taller, this perennial carries thinner foliage and blooms earlier. Its solitary, buttercup shaped, 1-inch flowers sit atop a jagged rosette of green bracts. Moist, alkaline soil is best, but it is not fussy about dryness. Soaking the tubers in lukewarm water for 24 hours prior to planting aids their development. Plant the tubers in September. Eranthus foliage disappears once the strong summer sun arrives.
