COMMENTS: This familiar herb garden inhabitant has lance-like, 1-inch leaves arranged in whorls of 8 are topped by star-shaped, small blooms. A useful, fast growing, ground cover if given moist, well-drained, humusy soil. Will accept heavy shade and dry spells, providing the soil is loose. Light winter mulching is advised in areas of severe winters.
